For September the Rotary International theme is basic education and literacy. The Pisgah Forest Rotary Club meeting Sept. 6 will have District Governor Sean Gibson as its guest speaker. Gibson has been a member of Rotary International since 2002. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Franklin where he has served as club president in 2015-16. He is also a past assistant district governor for Rotary District 7670 and past district treasurer. He is a Paul Harris Fellow Plus 6. Gibson has been operating WFSC and WNCC radio stations in Franklin since 2008. In his spare time he enjoys biking and hiking in the outdoors, playing golf, playing music in his band - the V-8s – and participating in the great work of Rotary.

The Rotary Club weekly meetings are now being held at the Mary C. Jenkins Community and Cultural Center. The public is always welcome to attend the breakfast meetings, listen to guest speakers, and share a friendly, enjoyable, and healthy light breakfast every Wednesday morning at 8 a.m.
